You can also use the code: PIW18DIRECT.Let’s start with the important stuff. Coffee. After the Wi-Fi password, coffee is the most requested item at any conference (not based on actual data).

ProcureCon does a great job keeping us peppy with java, but if you get a hankering for a Triple Venti, Half Sweet, Non-Fat, Caramel Macchiato, there’s a full-service Starbucks available onsite, open from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Full-service Starbucks in the lobby

Now, the pro tip doesn’t end there. If you haven’t downloaded the Starbucks Mobile App yet, you must! You don’t want to miss a minute of your session stuck in line, so pre-order through the app and breeze in like a VIP to pick-up your order when you’re ready. You’ll thank me for this later.

Happy Hour at Bar 1939 or the lobby bar

Speaking of drinks. If you’re looking for an adult beverage or small bite at the end of the day, check out Happy Hour at Bar 1939 located in the JW Steak House, or at the lobby bar.

Happy Hour at Bar 1939 is 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Happy Hour at the hotel lobby bar is 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.[just_icon icon="Defaults-glass" icon_size="48" icon_color="#ffffff" icon_style="circle" icon_color_bg="#30a4e5"]My favorite cocktail at Bar 1939 is the Copper State Sour. Made with Park Rye Whiskey, lemon juice, honey from Crockett Honey Co. in Tempe, egg white and Lincoln grapefruit bitters. They are serious about their cocktails!

Digitize your notes

Now that you’ve got your coffee in one hand, you’re ready to take in the amazing information sessions and presenters at ProcureCon. I wanted to share a pro-tip on taking notes like a boss (or for your boss).

The Evernote app for iPhone and Android is my goto sidekick at conferences. At its core, Evernote allows you to log notes, images, audio, files, and even sketch into one contained note. Here are some tips for using Evernote effectively for presentation note-taking:

  1. Keep notes organized by the presenter. Use “ProcureCon2018” and the title of the presentation as the title of your note. This will help you find it much easier later. Remember to include the name of the presenter in case you want to connect with them later.
  2. Sit near the front or in the aisle, so you have an unobstructed view of the presentation screen. This will also keep you attentive!
  3. Take photos of the presentation slides right from the app, and the AI feature will crop out the surroundings and straighten the image for you!
  4. Enter in any helpful URLs or references and they will be linkable later.
  5. Share your notes with co-workers easily by sharing the note or even copying the note into an email.

Networking made easy

Between sessions and after hours, ProcureCon is a place to network. If you meet someone you’d like to connect with later, take a photo of their business card and Evernote will read the text and populate contact info into your address book! Amazing! Am I right?

Business card scanning is a premium feature, but considering a business card scanner could set you back $250, this is a feature worth paying for.

Here’s some information about business card scanning on Evernote.[just_icon icon="Defaults-linkedin-square" icon_size="48" icon_color="#ffffff" icon_style="circle" icon_color_bg="#30a4e5" css_just_icon=".vc_custom_1536973890839{margin-top: 0px !important;padding-top: 0px !important;}"]But wait! Basic and Plus users can get 1 year of business card scanning for free when they connect Evernote and LinkedIn. This feature will also allow you to instantly connect with your new contacts via LinkedIn.

Kick back and have some fun

Enough business talk. After hours, enjoy the wonderful amenities offered at JW Camelback Inn Resort & Spa; a full-service spa resort.

Did I mention that the pool is open 24 hours?! Yes, the JW Camelback Inn is famous for its outdoor pool with sweeping views of Camelback Mountain. Get first-class poolside service to top off your visit. The staff here are amazing.

For those who want to get some fresh air, bicycles are available for rent from the concierge. Ride around the property and venture out to surrounding areas and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Bike maps are available from the concierge.

For a fun time after hours, enjoy live music on the restaurant patio. Live music is available almost every evening. Ask at the front to find out who’s playing tonight.

If golf is your game, book a tee time at the Camelback Golf Club. An 18-hole championship golf course. Door to door shuttle service is available for your convenience. And if you just want to putt around, there is a pitch and putt right on the property.

Rejuvenate and refresh

After a couple late nights out, you may need some cleansing. Head to Sprout. At this spa restaurant, treat yourself to an assortment of spa-inspired healthy organic smoothies to cleanse yourself from the inside out.

The spa at the JW Camelback Inn is simply extraordinary. Spend the day at the 32,000-square-foot spa, which offers 32 treatment rooms, and a serene lap pool. Pamper yourself by booking a relaxing spa treatment here.

If you’re looking to keep up with your fitness regimen, you won’t be disappointed. There are two choices for gyms here.

The hotel gym is complimentary for all guests and offers cardio equipment as well as free weights and is open 24 hours.

If you’re looking for a full-service gym, head over to the spa where you can take advantage of the fitness center there. Free if you book a spa treatment, and $35 per day for hotel guests just using the gym. It is open Monday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. There is a schedule of fitness classes, and private sessions can also be booked.
